CREW VISAS
CREW VISA CLASSIFICATIONS
Crew visa applications are dependent upon the primary case that is being filed. There are 3 nonimmigrant visa classifications associated with the crew and essential support personnel of artists, bands, and entertainment groups;
Crew and essential support personnel where the primary case is for an O-1B visa applicant would apply for an O-2 visa.
Crew and essential support personnel where the primary case is for a P-1B visa applicant would apply for a P-1S visa.
Crew and essential support personnel where the primary case is for a P-3 visa applicant would apply for a P-3 visa.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Essential support personnel - those who are integral to the success of an O or P visa applicant - may apply for a crew visa. A statement must be provided describing the support person’s prior and current essential, critical skills and experience with the primary artist, band or entertainment group.
EVIDENTIARY CRITERIA
Primary case is for an O-1B visa - Evidence should establish the current essentiality, critical skills, and experience of the O-2 visa applicant, and the O-2 visa applicant has substantial experience performing the critical skills and essential support services for the O-1B beneficiary.
Primary case is for a P-1B visa - Evidence should establish the current essentiality for support personnel who are an integral part of the performance for the P-1B beneficiary, and who perform support services which cannot be readily performed by a U.S. worker.
Primary case is for a P-3 visa - Evidence should establish the current essentiality for support personnel who are an integral part of the performance for the P-3 beneficiary, and who perform support services which cannot be readily performed by a U.S. worker.
PERIOD OF STAY
Accompanying crew and essential support personnel visas will be subject to the same period of admission and limitations as the primary case’s beneficiary.
